What are toxins and why does it even matter that we detox regularly?
Toxins
are substances that have harmful effects on the body. They come from food,
water, polluted air and from chemicals used to grow and process food, coffee, sugar,
pre-packaged foods and junk foods. The number of toxins entering our bodies is
reaching unprecedented levels and their cumulative effect on our health is unknown except to say if you are like any other human being alive today, you have experienced days where you feel very unlike yourself; low energy, bloated, dark circles under the eyes, hard time sleeping, and extraordinarily irritable. Most people would agree that these days are happening more and more often throughout a given year.
What most people don't know is that toxins can also originate from within the bodies regular metabolism, produced by the mind in the form of unhealthy emotions. And you thought it was all about the food. For a lot of people toxic emotions is one of their greatest challenges to overcome.
And we know when we are toxic emotionally we make really bad decisions,
like pressing the 'send' button on an email we immediately regret, or eating an entire box of cookies instead of just one...
Normally
a healthy stress-free person can process toxins in the liver, kidneys and other organs and then eliminate them through feces, urine, and sweat. However when a person is stressed, this process is hindered. Dehydration, lack of exercise,
bad moods, stress, anxiety, lack of dietary fibre, constipation, insufficient
consumption of fresh vegetables and fruit, and the cumulative effect of
chemicals in our food are just some of the common lifestyle factors that impair
normal detoxification and cause toxins to hang around in our digestive,

- On or before December 20th post your successes and an after photo if you wish
- On December 21st a panel of judges from Grail Springs will announce the winners based on the best efforts and best successes achieved!
